Shell exhibit

I went to see a rare museum that specializes in shellfish. When I visited, there was an exhibition of photos of marine life taken by local residents, and I was able to enjoy seeing fish and shrimp.

The location is near the tip of Cape Manazuru, so it is a little difficult to get to. However, there are hot springs and delicious restaurants nearby, so we decided to include it in our family trip route.

Photos

There are shells of all sizes on display, including a large ammonite fossil, shells collected from nearby waters, and shells from overseas. You can enjoy not only the shape but also the beauty of the nacre, and learn about shell crafts and their history.

Other fun

There are illustrations of shells drawn by visitors, and you can draw your own. Both my children tried to draw illustrations. I think they came out well, but I wonder if they are on display?

My son seemed to like the illustration of the conch that he drew, and after he got home, he would often draw illustrations of the same design when he played with it. I was glad that he had a good experience.
